The zebrafish: a beautiful animal and an important research tool. As scientists, we know that the zebrafish is a useful model for human disease - it been used in genetic studies for years - but do the public? Imagine my surprise when I spotted two adverts - one either side of an unmemorable story in the newspaper - from the British Heart Foundation (BHF). One featured a woman explaining how the zebrafish is used in cardiac research, while the other showed the zebrafish, telling me how his heart can heal itself.
