MANY CHIEF nurses would recoil at the prospect of a film crew coming to their hospital to film nurses' working lives for a television series, particularly when the show is called Confessions of a Nurse.However, Rachel Overfield took a different view. She wanted to show the public that nurses are ordinary, hardworking people doing a tough, taut rewarding job. Along with other senior managers at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust, Ms Overfield gave permission to the programme makers, and the result of one year of filming was a three-part documentary screened in January and February on More4.
