Some areas of neurology have seen tremendous advances in recent decades; however, the current lack of curative treatments means that most patients eventually die with, and often from, their disease or injury. Although palliative and end-of-life care is increasingly being recognised as an important area of medicine, the needs of patients with neurological disorders deserve more attention.
