Recent months have seen the publication of two new updates to guidelines on how to identify and manage concussion sustained during sport. On Feb 8, 2013, a consensus statement based on expert opinion originating from the discussions atthe 4th International Conference in Sport, held in Zurich in Nov, 2012, was published. On March 18, 2013, the multidisciplinary guideline development subcommittee of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) published its evidence-based guidelines on the evaluation and management of sports concussion, which is an update to its 1997 practice parameter regarding sports concussion.
