When Kate Hill came to New Zealand from London twenty-five years ago, one of the first places she was invited to visit was a dairy farm on the outskirts of Hamilton. She had met the family who sharemilked there at her daughter Jane's playcentre and recalls a happy rural outing with children trekking down the cattle race and bouncing on hay bales in a corrugated iron barn.
