Bradycardias are commonly encountered dysrhyth-mias that can cause significant hemodynamic instability requiring urgent interventions to increase heart rate (HR) and restore cardiac output (CO) to vital organs.A temporary, ventricular transvenous pacemaker (TVPM) is an invasive intervention option that may be selected to manage unstable bradydysrhythmias. Temporary TVPMs function by initiating action potentials or electrical impulses through direct endocardial stimulation and can be associated with serious risks.1 Working with TVPM devices requires specialized nursing knowledge, meticulous and thorough patient assessments, and close monitoring to recognize and manage device-related complications.
