My final Voices column as chief nursing officer for England is quite a milestone. It gives me the opportunity to acknowledge the people I have been privileged to work with, and those I have met throughout what has been a challenging and rewarding career. From senior nurse leaders to students, patients and carers, many of you have inspired me and reinforced 'the constants' of nursing - core values that have endured over time.
