Voting papers giving RCN members the chance to vote on the government's plans to change public sector pensions will be sent out within days.Nurses will be given two options: 'Yes, I want the RCN to accept the government's pension proposals', or 'No, I want the RCN to reject the government's pension proposals'. The deadline for the vote is February 27.RCN general secretary Peter Carter said: 'We would encourage all members to study their voting papers, make their choice and influence what happens next.' The RCN council will meet on February 28 to discuss how to respond to the result.Under the proposals, NHS pension scheme members earning more than ?,557 a year will have to pay extra pension contributions from April and work for longer.
