摘要

The most effective macronutrient distribution of diets designed to lose weight are the focus of a number of investigations. The aim of this nutritional trial was to study the effect of a moderately high protein (30% energy as protein) low-calorie diet on fuel utilization during the slimming process in obese women. Six women (BMI>30) were assigned to a 10 weeks dietary weight reduction program. Energy expenditure and substrates utilization were measured by indirect calorimetry and C-13-breath tests. Body weight (98.9 +/- 5.6 vs 89.7 +/- 5.6 kg) and fat mass (48.7 +/- 3.7 vs 43.2 +/- 4.8%) decreased after the trial, and the endogenous lipid oxidation was higher than exogenous (14.06 +/- 1.66 g/6h vs 1.74 +/- 0.31 g/6h; P<0.01). No changes in protein and C-13-leucine catabolism were detected, but carbohydrate and C-13-glucose oxidation tended to decrease. Thus, the replacement of some dietary carbohydrate by protein in the hypoenergetic diet promoted endogenous lipid oxidation at the expense of glucose utilization
