摘要

Using a sample of 750,000 hadronic decays of the Z(0) boson collected by DELPHI during 1992, we have studied the fragmentation properties of quark and gluon jets as a function of the jet energy. Gluon jets were antitagged in three-jet events where the two quark jets were identified as b quark jets from reconstructed secondary vertices. The gluon jets selected with this technique were compared to an unbiased sample of quark jets obtained from q (q) over bar gamma events where the identified photon replaces the gluon and preserves the same kinematics. The charged multiplicity, rapidity distributions and the string effect are presented. [References: 8]
