In Advanced Material Gas-Generator (AMG) Project, we have developed a bearing that can be operated under high-temperature and high-speed conditions. The bearing consists of advanced materials, such as balls made of silicone nitride, rings made of newly developed high-speed steel, and a cage made of C/C composite. In addition, tripentaerythritol ester oil was selected for the lubricant. Initial performance tests revealed that the selected materials and lubricating oil function sufficiently for bearing usage. Finally, the bearing was operated normally at 4 million dN and 300℃ for 10 hours.
