Five thrill-seeking intruders at Leningrad II-2 were able to climb to the top of the under-construction reactor’s cooling tower and photograph themselves with legs dangling off the edge. The photographs were posted Dec. 7 and 8 on an Instagram account whose owner identifies as 20-year-old Nikita Agopov. He also apparently uploaded a Youtube video of himself and the other intruders breaking into the tower. In a group interview with the Russian website Fontanka, Agopov and the other intruders said they hoped the incident would be “a good kick in the butt” for those overseeing security at the site.
