Das Unterkarbon (Mississippium) in der Stratigraphischen Tabelle von Deutschland 2002

Two years after publication of the STD 2002, the Carboniferous System now comprises 7 global stages accepted by the International Subcommission on Carboniferous Stratigraphy (Tournaisian, Visean, Serpukhovian, Bashkirian, Moscovian, Kasimovian, Gzhelian), but at present global stratotypes have only been selected for base and top of the Lower Carboniferous. Numerical ages here used for these two boundaries are 358 Ma and 320 Ma.
