US Northeast pulp mills full on pulpwood, concerns grow regarding survival of suppliers

At the end of third quarter, the US Northeast Region was plugged full of woodfiber on account of good weather, mill shuts, slow consumption on the biomass and wood pellet fronts, and improved supplier efficiencies. Delivered roundwood prices continued to decay from second quarter, with declines anywhere from 5-18% ($2-9/ton) compared to year-ago levels.
