Packed beds in cross-flow operation

摘要

Mass transfer apparatus which work in cross-flow operation are nowadays used for humidification, gas cleaning and as open cooling towers. The knowledge of the fluiddynamics is a principle condition in order to realize a reliable design of those apparatus. The present paper explains the details which have to be considered in this field.
