Lakeview abattoirs received its quality credentials in December 1994, following the audit of its pig killing process by independent auditors Standards New Zealand. Lakeview was assessed to ensure that it was meeting the requirements of the Pork Quality Improvement Process (PQIP), an initiative of the New Zealand Pork Industry Board.
