"I think we can win the debate in the House. If President Bush engages the American people on this, we can win in the Senate, too." ANWR could supply 600,000 (Bush's estimate) to 1 million (Barton's estimate) tons of oil a day for the next 40 years and, Barton says, drive down gas prices at the pump by 25-50 cents.
