Formation of the Cyclic Organization of Sleep in Early Ontogeny in Different Conditions of Intrauterine Development in Children

We present here data on the formation of the cyclic organization of sleep during early ontogeny in neonates at different gestational ages and with different conditions of intrauterine development and birth, and comparison of these with clinical status and subsequent psychomotor development. The characteristics of sleep in neonates provide a measure of the functional maturity and severity of perinatal CNS injury. Dynamic assessments of changes in the structure of sleep and the qualitative characteristics of its individual phases determined the selection of treatment methods and out-patient observation tactics.
