Wyoming, BLM Authorize Planned Drilling in Pinedale Anticline Region

Shell, Ultra and Questar have gained approval from federal land managers and the state of Wyoming to develop vast natural gas deposits in the Pinedale Anticline region. The government's blueprint for development of accelerated development of the Pinedale, which lies directly north of the mammoth Jonah natural gas field in western Wyoming, is still facing a lawsuit from environmentalists who say local imperiled species need better shielding from truck traffic and ground disturbance (NGW Jun.30, p.1).
