Seventeen environmental organizations have urged the US Environmental Protection Agency to require the disclosure of ingredients used in hydraulic fracturing for well stimulation, reviving a still-erratic national discussion about whether fracking poses a risk to drinking water. If the EPA agrees to the request, such a policy would affect activity on all land — federal, state and private — in contrast with an already-proposed federal Bureau of Land Management fracking disclosure proposal that would only impact federal lands.
