China to Auction Six Shale Gas Blocks

China plans to launch an auction of six shale gas blocks within a month, but bidding will be limited to state-owned energy companies, according to a senior official at the Ministry of Land and Resources said. The blocks cover more than 2,500 square miles in Guizhou, Shanxi, Anhui and Zhejiang provinces and in Chongqing municipality.
