China set to auction six shale gas blocks to Chinese energy companies

The Chinese government will offer six shale gas exploration blocks to domestic energy companies in an auction next month. The Chinese bidders qualified for the auction are PetroChina, China Petroleum & Chemical, CNOOC and Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Group, according to Zhang Dawei, deputy director of oil and gas strategy research at the Ministry of Land and Resources.
