In order to keep natural gas inventories below 4 trillion cubic feet by the end of October, many analysts have warned, production may have to drop by 2 billion cubic foot per day for the rest of this summer. But the recent rally in June gas futures prices certainly didn't encourage producers to remain sidelined, but instead enticed the return of shut-in supply.
