Pennsylvania's Peco Cuts NatGas Rates;Seeking Alternative Credits

Exelon utility subsidiary Peco has lowered its natural gas rate by 18.8 % begmning this month.Combined with another decrease three months ago,the Kennett Square,Pennsylvania-based utility says its natural gas rate will be almost the same as it was a year ago.Natural gas wholesale prices spiked last winter through June,causing gas rates for local consumers to rise from 1.28 to 1.68 per hundred cubic feet in June.This latest rate decrease will save customers an average of nearly 50 in December,with an average bill being 213.43.
