Interior's Final Methane Rule Has Industry, Republicans Venting

Republican legislators and oil and gas industry trade groups harmonize in the same chorus when it comes to railing against rules issued by federal regulators under the Obama administration. Their refrain is "overreach." And it echoed resoundingly around Capitol Hill and beyond last week when the Interior Department issued a final rule aimed at controlling the venting, flaring and leaking of methane from oil and natural gas operations on federal and tribal lands (NGW Jan.25'16).
