Marcellus Shale Delivering Large Volumes for Cabot, Southwestern

Despite battling strong natural gas pricing headwinds throughout 2012, Cabot Oil & Gas got a boost from surging output in the prolific Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania where it recently achieved cumulative production of 500 billion cubic feet of natural gas equivalent. Meanwhile, Southwestern Energy also reported strong fourth-quarter growth in the Marcellus, with volumes in the play rising 138% year-over-year to roughly 210 million cubic feet equivalent per day.
