The ongoing skirmishes between greens and the E&P industry are about to enter a pivotal period, according to several green groups that told Natural Gas Week that 2015 will be a critical year for both sides. In Texas, all eyes are on legal maneuverers swirling around a November vote that saw a ban on new hydraulic fracturing operations inside the Denton city limits pass by a wide margin (NGW Dec.8'14). Of the 25,000 votes cast, 59% of them were in favor of the ban, which is being challenged in court by the Texas Oil & Gas Association (NGW Nov. 1714).
