Southeast natural gas pipeline capacity could rise by 1 billion cubic feet per day following the completion of two successful open seasons. Elba Express Co. (EEC) and Southern Natural Gas (SNG), both units of Kinder Morgan's El Paso Pipeline Partners, held the open seasons to gauge shipper interest for incremental, long-term gas transportation capacity of almost 600 million cubic feet per day. The open seasons also attracted interest in further phasing of the expansion up to 400 MMcf/d.
