The energy industry tends to latch on to a simple narrative and not let go until things have gone well awry, and so it is with growing pipeline exports to Mexico. That country's gas needs are rising while its domestic gas production is falling, so the US will see exports explode. Everyone's happy. But this won't be that smooth a path and what could go wrong is clear.
