Nova Scotia Weighs Offshore Oil, NatGas Drilling on Georges Bank

Nova Scotia is no stranger to oil and natural gas production off the island province's coastline. But lately, a new debate has emerged: whether to continue a moratorium blocking offshore production in the Georges Bank along Nova Scotia's southwestern coast, or to allow extraction of the bank's offshore deposits by letting the ban expire in 2012 and working up a drilling blueprint in the meantime.
