UniStar Poised to Apply for New Nuke Reactor at Nine Mile Point

UniStar Nuclear Energy (UNE), a strategic joint venture between Constellation Energy and the EDF Group, has notified the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission of its plans to submit a Combined license application before the end of the year for a New Gen III+ nuclear reactor at Constellation Energy's Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station in upstate New York.UNE Chairman Michael J. Wallace said the company is advising the NEC that it has selected Nine Mile Point as the possible site for a US Evolutionary Power Reactor (US EPR). UNE, however, has not made a final decision to build a new reactor at Nine Mile Point.
