UK Gas Imports Could Top 90% Or Fall to 30% by 2040

Britain could be forced to rely on other countries for more than 90% of its gas supplies by 2040 if there is weak economic growth and not enough money made available to support domestic gas production, National Grid said last week. Britain now imports about half of its gas supply from Norway, continental Europe, Qatar and perhaps soon the US as Gulf Coast terminals ramp up (NGW Jul.4' 16).
