EDF, Constellation Moved Quickly On Sealing $4.5 Billion Nuke Deal

After months of speculation and uncertainty, the French EDF Group and Constellation Energy announced Friday that they have completed the transaction creating their nuclear joint venture. The $4.5 billion payout by EDF for half of Constellation Energy's nuclear power business was thought to be put on hold, after incoming EDF Chief Executive Henri Proglio publicly stated that he was "unenthusias-tic about the Constellation deal and looking for a way out."
