Gov. Suggests Quake Insurance as Oklahoma Reins in Disposal Wells

Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin is suggesting concerned homeowners might consider buying earthquake insurance, as the state ordered wastewater wells in two counties to reduce intake in an effort to stem rising quake swarms. The comment was made after Fallin met with the Coordinating Council on Seismic Activity last week and Secretary of Energy and Environment Michael Teague said it could take up to a year to know if new regulations trying to reduce quake activity are working.
