Two LNG-Powered Vessels Delivered to US Companies

The world's first LNG-powered container ship, the Isla Bella, has left a shipyard in San Diego and after a transit through the Panama Canal, is headed to the Port of Jacksonville where it will begin regular commercial runs from Florida to Puerto Rico. Built by General Dynamics Nassco for Tote Maritime, the 764-foot-long container ship was delivered in mid-October, two months ahead of schedule. The vessel's arrival adds a new note in the continuing development of the maritime heavy horsepower market for LNG.
