Ziff: North American LNG Exports Could Have Little Impact on Prices

The North American shale and other tight natural gas resources unlocked by new technology in recent years are of such mammoth proportions that siphoning off excess volumes to international markets would raise prices only marginally, say energy experts with Calgary-based Ziff Energy. In fact, the continent could handle an additional 5 billion cubic feet per day of demand on top of an expected 3.4 Bcf/d of exports by 2020 with the price of natural gas rising just 18c/MMbtu.
