Time, Money and the Courts Spell End to Shell's Arctic Drilling Plan

Time, economics and a new court challenge have put an end to Royal Dutch Shell's Arctic drilling plans this year. That was the call made last week by Chief Executive Ben van Beurden who said the company was shelving its plans to drill a series of wells at its Burger prospect in the Chukchi Sea(NGWNov.11'13). He did not say anything about possibly reviving the program in 2015.
