Vermilion Energy's expansive business model not only targets conventional resource plays in Western Canada, including Cardium light oil and liquids-rich natural gas, but seizes high-impact opportunities in the Netherlands and drilling and workover programs in France and Australia. The Calgary-based independent also holds an 18.5% working interest in the Corrib gas field in Ireland, as well as interests in the Williston Basin in the US. Nonetheless, the company, launched in 1994 as Vermilion Resources, doesn't garner a lot of headlines. And that's OK, Chief Executive Lorenzo Donadeo told Natural Gas Week.
