摘要

This issue of the Newsletter concentrates on terrestrial snails and slugs introduced to Australia. In the article commenced in the last issue and continued in this issue, Michael Shea provides a catalogue of the 48 introduced species. Most Australianswould be familiar with the introduced snail Cantareus aspersus (previously Helix aspersa) in gardens throughout southern and eastern Australia. It has been in Australia so long, and is so widely distributed that most people are surprised when told thatit is an introduced species. But accompanying this large and obvious species are numerous small and cryptic species which are less commonly noticed.
