Looking for a safe and economical way to remove rust, Fairlawn, for the past year, has been successfully derusting its 1018-grade CRS with a water-based pH-neutral concentrate, PicoClean X-Rust from Pico Chemical Corp., Chicago Heights, IL. Founded in 1954 and boasting 100,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space in two facilities, Fairlawn supplies food service, vending, transportation, retail and container industries. When rust occurs on parts, harsh chemical treatments such as acids or high-pH caustic solutions often are recommended to remove the reddish-brown coating.
