Forty-year-old Rockstedt Tool and Die, Brunswick, OH, designs and manufactures progressive dies, metal stampings and assemblies. Its facilities incorporate a comprehensive inhouse design and engineering department to expedite deliveries to market, a bonus in today's fiercely competitive global environment. Rockstedt's engineering department coordinates with its die makers and extensive tool room to develop progressive dies. A die-building center employs CNC machining centers, waterjet-cutting machines and a host of wire electrical-discharge-machining (EDM) centers. At the core of Rockstedt's technology is CAD-CAM software designed and developed for the tooling industry. The use of VISI-Series software, from Vero International, Bingham Farms, MI, allows designers to develop fully integrated wire-frame, surface and solid models, dedicated tool designs for progressive dies and comprehensive 2D and 3D CAM programs that support high-speed machining.
