Russia is not going to increase crude oil production to help to reduce global oil prices pushed higher by turmoil in the Middle East and North Africa, according to Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko. In an interview with the German press, the Russian minister said the hike in oil prices is related to fears of a possible shortage. “But this is only a short-term impression,” he said, adding that it’s necessary to stay calm.
