Structural Relaxation of the Sort-Range Order in Amorphous Alloys

摘要

The temperature dependence of the dynamic Young's modulus E of amorphous metallic alloys Ti_(50)Cu_(50-x)Ni_x (x = 5, 10, 12, 16, 18, 20) exhibits an anomalous increase of E at temperatures higher than T_x (T_x varies from 440 to 525 K for different compositions). For a higher Ni content in the alloy (x> 12percent) a small peak appears in the internal-friction temperature dependence near T_x These effects are associated with the structure transformation processes inside the short-range ordered nanosized areas (clusters). A model of structural relaxation of the short-range order is proposed which furnishes an explanation of the observed anomalous effects of elastic and inelastic properties of the amorphous alloys.
