Baltic states ports transship 11 mt of different cargoes in August; coal and iron ore handling drops, agricultural cargo volumes rise somewhat

The Baltic states reduced the volumes of handled cargoes by 417,000 t to 11.1 mt in August. The total volumes of handling at theLatvian ports declined by 373,000 t to 5.35 mt. The increase in transshipment at Ventspils (up 232,000 t) and Liepaja (up 56,000 t) couldnot compensate for the reduction of volumes at Riga (down 661,000 t). Cargo handling at Klaipeda and Tallinn stayed relatively stable.Ferrous raw material and coal transshipment decreased notably, while handling of agricultural cargoes rose somewhat. There wereno significant changes in transshipment volumes of other cargoes in August.
