The storage study on gladiolus corms was carried out for 6 months from January 2006 to June 2007. Corms treated with 200 ppm GA_3 recorded better sprouting (90.56 percent) and less time (21 days) for sprout emergence whereas 200 ppm ABA treated cormsshowed least sprouting (25.06 percent) and maximum time (3 Idays) for sprout emergence. Cold storage enhanced sprouting (58.89 percent) of corms. Biochemical analysis revealed that content of reducing sugars (7.21 mg/10 g) was more in GA_3 treated corms whereas non reducing sugars (110.41 mg/10 g) and phenols (718.33 ug/g) were more in ABA treated corms.
