摘要

A study was carrioed out during kharif seasons 2005 and 2006 to predict the growth and grain yield of fingermillet in Eastern Dry Zone of Karnataka, India. The grain yield was related to the total dry matter accumulation at various stages of crop growth. The dry matter accumulation in turn was related to growing degree days, sunshine hours, actual evapotranspiration and sowing times. The results revealed that total dry matter accumulation in general had a positive effect on grain yield. However, GDDhad a negative influence on total dry matter at only the tillering stage. SSH favoured the accumulation of total dry matter and the effect of AET was differed. Late sowing reduced total dry matter accumulation significantly thereby gain yield of fingermillet.
