摘要

In majority of the coastal region, next to rice, groundnut is the dominant crop cultivated in the nutrient impoverished sandy soils. The major production constraints in coastal sandy soils are low organic matter, leaching and poor nutrient retention of nutrients in soil. The poor retention and leaching of nutrients necessitates the increased rate of nutrients application especially NPK in such soil. The addition of fertilizers along with organics in sandy soil not only fulfil the nutrients demand, but also helps in improving the organic carbon status, retention and supply of sufficient amount of nutrients (Badanur et al, 1990 and Khar, 1993). Hence, in the present investigation, an attempt has been made with the use of organic manures of the coastal areas with NPK levels on the nutrient availability and yield of groundnut in coastal sandy soils.
