Studies on Vertical Distribution of Phosphorus under Different Land Use Systems

摘要

Distribution of different forms of phosphorus and their relationship with soil properties were studied under different land use systems viz., agri system (rice and tobacco), horti system (arecanut), silvi system (subabul) and current fallow land use system (control) at Zonal Agricultural Research Station, Navile, Shimoga. Among all the forms of phosphorus as compared to other forms of phosphorus the content of the other forms of phosphorus under different land use systems of the surface soil, saloidbound phosphorus constituted lowest phosphorus content. In general mineral phosphorus contributed highest to the total phosphorus in all the profiles. The both mineral and total phosphorus were high under surface layers compared to that of surface layers in all the land use systems.
