As already stated in a previous article, it is reasonable to suppose that the first finds of native copper, and even those of bronze, derived from the association of copper and tin bearing ores, and that it occurred in several localities. The systematic recovery of the metal tin and the still more complicated development of bronze, however, are more likely to have started from one place, or at the most a very few areas, where copper and tin were readily foregathered, and where man had himself advanced to an extent more than the average as instanced by the degree of civilization there pertaining.
