The 21st century China today with its power of enhanced industrial and economic base offers a unique mix of challenges and opportunities to these casting enterprises. Whilst it is important for the Chinese foundries to tap the overseas market, a recommendation is made to explore the casting opportunities for import substitution and product development for various foreign owned manufacturing industries that have been operating in China. Access to WTO will not guarantee automatic exports.
